Annually Lytham in Bloom organises a Local Community Awards scheme to encourage private households, businesses and schools to produce outstanding floral and garden displays. Residents, businesses and school gardens are assessed by members of the Lytham in Bloom committee who walk around the town and make a list of promising candidates. This takes place in July.
The Chairman of the Lytham In Bloom committee will then revisit these addresses and produce a shortlist which is then finally judged by a North West in Bloom Judge. This takes place in late July / early August.
Judges only assess gardens and displays that are visible from the footpath/road, so it includes front gardens, lawns, patios, wall displays and hanging baskets.
The 2015 Local Community Award Ceremony took place at the Clifton Arms Hotel on Thursday 24th September 2015. The awards were presented by Stephen Lowe from Radio Lancashire.
