“Weeks of testing have finally resulted in the taste & colour I wanted to achieve for my limited edition of Lytham Gin in Bloom” said Sara Dewhurst. “It is now ready to launch. I shall produce about 200 bottles initially with a view to producing another 200 before the summer ends” added Sara.
“After watching our award winning Lytham in Bloom volunteers triumph on BBC 2 TV, I decided to commemorate the event in the best way I know how. I have always had a passion for gin and since becoming the ginsmith at my own distillery, Sandgrown Spirits, I have had the opportunity to turn my passion into a business venture.
Lytham in Bloom do a fantastic job for the town of Lytham. I know that shops, cafés and business owners really appreciate the colour and class they bring to the town centre. They also collect litter on Monday evenings helping to keep the town tidy. They look after the huge herbaceous border in Lowther Gardens, Lytham Memorial Gardens, as well as involving themselves with several other local community projects. Lytham would not be the same without them. “
“We really appreciate the kind gesture” said Vice Chairman Susan Evans. “The community spirit in the town is very special, so what better way to celebrate than with a spirit of our own.
“The Lytham Gin in Bloom will be flavoured with rose, apricot, vanilla and coloured with hibiscus. A dash of citrus in the shape of bitter orange and Satsuma balances the juniper notes and gives a distinctive twist to this dry pink gin.
A donation for every bottle sold will go to the Lytham in Bloom charity, so I urge you to lift the spirit of the town and make your tipple of choice Lytham Gin in Bloom.”
Lytham Gin can be purchased by the bottle at Le Roti on Park Street Lytham and by the glass at many of the bars and restaurants in the town.
