Lytham In Bloom Community Awards

Winners revealed and prizes awarded at the 2018 awards night.

This hugely successful community event saw prizes awarded to 50 winners from 20 different categories. The awards seek to recognise members of the public, organisations, businesses both large and small who have contributed to enhancing the feel good factor in Lytham.

Gardens, lawns, hanging baskets, floral planters & giant sunflowers were all assessed by an independent RHS judge before the final list of winners was announced.

Adding to the spectacle at the Clifton Arms Hotel, the High Sheriff of Lancashire Tony Attard and Lady Patricia were on hand to present the awards. Supported by the Mayor and Mayoress of Fylde, they ensured that the event was truly one to remember.

It was also an emotional time for Lytham in Bloom as the event was the final social engagement to be hosted by Chairman Carol Wildon who is retiring from office later this month. Carol who has been an “IN BLOOM” member for 20 years is leaving Lytham for the Isle of Wight to be closer to her daughter & Grandson. She will not only be missed by Lytham in Bloom, but also by many others in the community where she has made her mark in so very many ways. We wish Carol the very best of luck in her new venture.

Awards were spread round the town with some past winners returning once more and lots of first timers getting in on the act. It was especially gratifying to see school children and their schools continuing to participate. A special mention must also go to all manner of businesses who embrace the opportunity to give something back to the town by putting on some fabulous displays. Everybody who took part helps to improve the atmosphere in the town. Our congratulations go to all who took part and of course to all those deserved winners.

Photographs of the presentations can be seen on the dedicated banner on this web site.
