Lytham in Bloom Spring Coffee Morning

Lytham in Bloom Spring Coffee Morning

10am - 12pm, Lytham Assembly Rooms, Saturday 26th May.

Fresh on the heels of their small screen triumph in BBC2 Britain in Bloom, gold medal winning Lytham in Bloom launch their Spring Bank Holiday fundraiser on Saturday May 26that Lytham Assembly Rooms.

“The event started as a simple coffee morning many years ago and has since morphed into a wide ranging fund raising event” said Chairman Carol Wildon. “Trevor, Tim and Greg man the plant stall, Susan, Margaret and Denise run the Raffle and I organise the Tombola.  The cake stall is attended by Anne & Kath, produce is sold by Margaret, whilst Lynn, Angie, Carol and other volunteers serve tea and coffee.” Tickets are just £1.00.

This important event held right in the heart of Lytham helps link us with the businesses and residents who have generously supported us over the years. The Spring Coffee Morning offers them an opportunity to help us raise the funds needed for our 2018 plantings” Carol added.

“Our award winning  group is made up entirely of volunteers. We have to raise all our own funds “explained Carol. “All contributions are spent on enhancing floral displays in the town together with associated projects.   We have again been invited by the Royal Horticultural Society to enter  Britain in Bloom in 2018 so funds are required to help us blossom  on behalf of Lytham.

Many people are unaware of the range of activities we undertake. We volunteered 20,000 hours last year and as our list of projects expand, so our need for extra volunteers grows. We are fortunate to have a group of lovely people with whom we work. Contributing to the enhancement of our town is most rewarding. It is not only a way to give

something back to the community, but is also a way to meet new people, join in our social activities and derive a feeling of contentment and wellbeing. You can help as much or as little as you want.” Anybody interested should contact Vice Chairman Susan Evans on 738257
