Volunteers and supporters of Lytham in Bloom gathered at the Clifton Arms Hotel to celebrate another year of hard work and success.
Named Best Small Seaside town and awarded a Gold medal in the North West in Bloom category, Lytham in Bloom also added a further Gold in the national Britain in Bloom competition which this year was held in Belfast.
“We are of course delighted with our success” said Chairman Susan Evans. “We worked very hard to achieve these awards and I am immensely proud of our volunteers who gave up so much of their time to help keep Lytham looking beautiful.
As I have said many times before, we are indebted to al our supporters and sponsors who’s help is a vital part of our success. These awards are as much for them as they are for us.”
A summary of the years work was given by Trevor Mackey. He emphasised the huge scope of activities currently undertaken by Lytham in Bloom, many of which are not known to the general public. Susan also stressed the importance of all the links established with other organisations in the town. “We are delighted to see so many of them acknowledged at North West by Bloom and to welcome many of them here tonight. We can celebrate as one large happy family.”
Awards from North West in Bloom were also gained by Lytham Hall Kitchen Garden & Apiary, The Queens Hotel, Mythop Road Allotments, Park View 4U, Lytham Hall Park School and Nursery, Lowther Gardens and Lytham Railway Station.
